The event was also used showcase The Gambia’s Petroleum potentials andprospectivity as well as unveil the roadmap to licensing the open blocks.
The Gambian Government delegation was led by the Honorable Minister of Petroleum and Energy also included the Secretary General, Honorable Minister of Justice, Permanent Secretary MOPE, Commissioner for Petroleum, Managing Director GNPC, and Executive Director GIEPA.
The well attended event saw a statement by the Secretary General & Head of Civil Services on the new political and governance situation in the Gambia. This was followed by a technical presentation by the Commissioner for Petroleum and a presentation on the regulatory frameworks, institutional arrangements and fiscal regimes for the Petroleum upstream by the Permanent Secretary.
The Honorable Minister of Petroleum and Energy closed the event by outlining the processes and the timeline towards licensing the open blocks.
Following the presentations, the delegation met the press as well as had one-on-one meetings with International Oil Companies.
The next steps include distribution of Request for Information to interested companies.
