and it helps to put the Corporation’s Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) Program into action. Purpose of the training is to ensure that target personnel especially drivers adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices during transportation and delivery of fuel.
Everyone in GNPC benefit from safety and health training through fewer workplace injuries and illnesses, reduced stress and other related occupational health issues. Effective and frequent HSSE trainings will reduce amount of money paid to health facilities as health insurance and workers compensation rates lower.
In his opening remark The Managing Director highlight on the importance of health and safety at workplace and management’s commitment in making sure a conducive working environment is creature for all staffs.
To effectively carry out their safety responsibilities, all employees must understand their role in the workplace, the hazards and potential hazards that need to be prevented or controlled, and the ways to protect themselves and others.
As stated in GNPC’s policy documents, the Corporation will provide the needed funds and scheduling time to ensure effective safety and health training is provided. This commitment include payment for the resource persons, travel allowance for the participants, breakfast and lunch for the training.
The training program focused on health and safety concerns that determine the best way to deal with LFO during transportation and offloading.
